CAROLYN OLSON

It seems to me that life’s experiences are best appreciated at the moment they are happening and even still I paint them. While painting I have time to think about things. I reflect on what has happened and comment visually. Most often I paint images that are stuck in my head like my sons school play, eating lunch with my husband, picking beans in the garden, grocery shopping or washing the dishes. I also paint about issues that as a community we deal with like poverty, education, the struggles of being a single parent or caring for aging family members.

I think most of us care about the same things and hopefully this art reflects our stories.
